Days after the lockdown, I volunteered to do donation drive posters for frontliners or any Covid-19 related communication design materials. I was amazed that requests poured into my social media accounts. It was an honor to boost credibility to their donation drives and to provide aesthetically pleasing information design. Then I received a brand request from a friend who is part of a small group from various sectors who pooled funds and purchased medical supplies to donate to medical facilities and currently to major hospitals and communities. Their operations were getting bigger and getting serious so they needed to rebrand to be taken seriously. They called themselves Backliners Ph. I became part of the branding and social media team and also designed the website. Contributing to passion projects like this makes me feel better and also proves that information design has a vital role in aiding information in society especially in these times.

Pinoytuner is the Philippines’ premier online music portal. It is a rock magazine, show producer-cum-promoter, and video production outfit rolled into one. It prides itself in its discerning and respected creative personnel—invariably made up of musicians, tunesmiths, and writers with several years of experience under their collective belts—as well as its topnotch original content. Pinoytuner certainly does not stand alone in Manila’s vibrant online music media, but its mishmash of no-bull reviews, breaking news, insightful features, and self-produced web shows has earned for itself a modest but devoted following.
